Job Summary
The Senior Finishing Engineer will spearhead all finishing operations for large-scale industrial projects, with a core specialization in warehousing facilities. This role requires an autonomous professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, excels at meeting strict turnaround times (TAT), and commands hands-on expertise in AutoCAD and industrial-grade finishing standards. You will bridge the gap between design intent and physical execution, ensuring massive industrial footprints are delivered defect-free and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Industrial Finishes
• Oversee and manage all architectural and finishing works specific to industrial and warehousing projects, including high-tolerance industrial flooring (VDF, FM2/FM3 floor finishes, epoxy coatings), external paving, dock shelter installations, rolling shutters, office block fit-outs, and wall/roof cladding systems.
• Translate complex architectural and shop drawings into flawless on-site execution, maintaining rigorous dimensional control across sprawling industrial layouts.
• Utilize AutoCAD on-site to rapidly modify, detail, or resolve interface issues (e.g., clearance details for loading docks, structural openings, and service penetrations) without delaying construction workflows.
TAT & Schedule Management
• Deliver all assigned finishing packages strictly within the agreed Turnaround Time (TAT), optimizing daily output and managing micro-schedules for overlapping trade activities.
• Take end-to-end individual responsibility for finishing milestones from mobilization to final handover, anticipating bottlenecks before they impact the master project timeline.
• Track material lead times and coordinate fast-track delivery schedules to maintain momentum in high-pressure project environments.
Team Collaboration & Subcontractor Control
• Act as a dependable team player who collaborates seamlessly with structural, MEP, and procurement teams to align interface works (such as drainage slopes, lighting integration, and fire curtain drops).
• Manage specialized industrial subcontractors and labor crews, driving productivity, enforcing safety compliance, and resolving site disputes proactively.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior site engineers and supervise quality benchmarks across multiple work fronts simultaneously.
Quality Assurance & Handover
• Implement strict quality control frameworks tailored to industrial wear-and-tear standards, ensuring flawless floor levelness, joint sealing, and weatherproofing.
• Drive zero-snag delivery through rigorous pre-pour and pre-installation inspections, managing swift defect rectification prior to client walk-throughs.
• Maintain complete documentation, including Material Approval Requests (MARs), Inspection Requests (IRs), and up-to-date as-built AutoCAD markups.
Key Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressive site execution experience, with a proven track record specifically in industrial projects and large-scale warehousing developments.
• Technical & Software Skills:
o Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for rapid shop drawing review, detailing, and as-built generation.
o Deep technical knowledge of heavy-duty industrial flooring systems, epoxy, waterproofing, industrial paints, and specialized building envelopes.
• Core Competencies:
o Demonstrated ability to handle complete project ownership independently while maintaining strong synergy with a larger multidisciplinary team.
o Exceptional time management discipline with a history of hitting aggressive deadlines and delivering within tight TATs.
o High resilience, problem-solving acumen, and adaptability to fast-paced industrial site environments.
